Funeral-cost assistance

Request partial assistance.

UMLF may provide up to $100 in assistance for verified, unpaid funeral expenses following pregnancy, stillbirth, neonatal, or infant loss. Assistance depends entirely on designated funds being available.

Before you begin

The applicant must be the baby's parent or legal guardian.
The loss must have occurred within the previous 60 days.
The family and funeral home must be located in Michigan.
Proof of loss and an itemized funeral-home estimate or unpaid statement are required.
UMLF must be allowed to verify the request with the funeral home.
Approved funds are paid directly to the funeral home, never to an individual.
The current maximum assistance payment is $100.
UMLF does not reimburse expenses that have already been paid.

Submission does not guarantee approval or payment. UMLF may approve only a portion of the requested amount, up to the current $100 maximum.
