About our foundation

Turning Loss Into Light™

United Mothers of Loss Foundation is an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) public charity founded by Diane Cassi to meet grief with compassion, dignity, remembrance, and practical support.

Our mission

Our mission is to ensure grieving families and individuals feel seen, supported, and remembered. We provide free educational resources, welcoming peer communities, remembrance programs, tangible care, and charitable initiatives that honor the love that remains after loss.

Who we serve

Our resources and communities support people affected by pregnancy, stillbirth, miscarriage, infant, child, adult-child, loved-one, and pet loss. We also provide education and meaningful ways for family members, volunteers, care providers, and community partners to help.

How the work began

Founder & CEO Diane Cassi built the Foundation from lived experience with pregnancy loss and the belief that families deserve honest acknowledgment, practical care, and a community that continues remembering. Turning Loss Into Light™ reflects the Foundation's commitment to transform love and remembrance into service.

What we do in practice

Our work includes raising funds for Cuddle Cot placements with care facilities, preparing bereavement care packages and memory boxes, creating free grief education, coordinating volunteer initiatives, and maintaining moderated support communities. Program availability grows as charitable funding, supplies, and community partnerships become available.
