Your privacy
Privacy Notice
Families share tender things with us. This notice explains plainly what we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.
What we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, subject, and message you provide. The care-package application requires your contact information, United States mailing address, loss type and date, one document confirming the loss and date, required acknowledgments, and your electronic signature. Optional information is clearly labeled.
Application documents
Upload proof of loss through the care-package application, not by email. Documents stay in the Foundation's existing application service and are available through its restricted administrator area. Email notifications do not include the uploaded documents. Remove Social Security numbers, insurance identifiers, account numbers, unrelated diagnoses, and other details we do not need before uploading.
How we use it
We use your information to reply to you, to review and fulfill program requests such as Care Packages for Grieving Mothers or Baby Remembrance Memory Boxes, and to keep the records a nonprofit needs for program administration. We do not use what you send us to profile you.
What we never do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not display third-party advertising or affiliate links on this website. We do not share what you tell us about your loss with anyone outside the Foundation’s program administration.
Google Ads measurement
The Foundation uses Google Ads to help grieving families find this website. To understand whether those ads are reaching people who need support, every page loads the Google tag, which may set cookies and share technical information such as your browser, device, and the pages you visit with Google.
When a contact form is submitted successfully, the site tells Google Ads that a message was sent. The contents of your message — your name, email address, subject, and anything you write about your loss — are never sent to Google. You can manage how Google uses this information in My Ad Center, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Service providers
This website is hosted on Netlify, and contact-form submissions are received through Netlify Forms. Care-package applications are processed by the Foundation’s existing ChatGPT Sites application service, with database and document storage hosted on Cloudflare. Foundation email is handled through Google Workspace, and ad measurement is provided by Google Ads as described above. Donations are processed by Zeffy, which handles payment information directly under its own privacy policy — the Foundation never receives or stores your card details.
Children
This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Access, correction, and deletion
You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to diane@turninglossintolight.com and we will respond.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page. Questions about privacy are always welcome at diane@turninglossintolight.com or by mail at P.O. Box 39092, Redford, MI 48239.
